Trauma-Informed Psychotherapy

Complex Trauma Therapy in Frederiksberg

Complex trauma rarely looks like a single bad event. It looks like patterns: shame that won't lift, relationships that keep hurting, a body that won't settle. Mia Amini offers trauma-informed psychotherapy for adults living with complex and developmental trauma, in Frederiksberg and online, in English, Danish and Persian.

Who this is for

  • Adults with C-PTSD, developmental trauma or long-term relational stress
  • People who grew up with emotional neglect, instability or fear
  • Anyone who has tried therapy before and still feels stuck in the same patterns
  • Clients wanting an integrated, nervous-system informed approach

Common signs and challenges

  • Chronic shame, self-blame or feeling 'too much' or 'not enough'
  • Repeating painful relational patterns
  • Emotional overwhelm, numbness or shutdown
  • Hypervigilance, sleep problems or chronic tension
  • Difficulty trusting your body, your needs or other people

How therapy may help

Therapy doesn't guarantee outcomes, but with consistent, trauma-informed work many clients experience meaningful change in these areas.

  • Understand the patterns instead of fighting yourself
  • Build steadier nervous-system regulation
  • Set boundaries from clarity rather than fear or guilt
  • Process what has been stuck without re-traumatising
  • Develop a kinder, more reliable relationship with yourself

Frequently asked questions

What is complex trauma?
Complex trauma (also called developmental trauma or C-PTSD) is the long-term impact of prolonged, repeated or relational adversity, often beginning in childhood. It affects identity, emotional regulation and relationships.
How is this different from regular therapy?
Trauma-informed therapy doesn't push you to re-tell what happened before your nervous system can handle it. It works with the body, the present moment and the survival patterns trauma created.
Where in Frederiksberg are sessions held?
In-person sessions are held in Frederiksberg, Denmark, when there is availability. Most clients work online via secure video.
Do you accept insurance?
I don't have a direct link with insurance companies, but many clients have had sessions covered by their providers. I can issue a receipt you can submit for reimbursement.
How long is each session?
Sessions are 55 minutes, online or in person. I work on a package basis (4, 8 or 12 sessions) so we can build sustained progress together.
